  • Red or pink food coloring (optional)

  • ½ cup chopped maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)

  • Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips (for drizzle or dipping)

  • Optional: 1 tsp coconut oil (for melting chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Grease a 9×13-inch pan with butter or cooking spray.

  2. Melt: In a large pot over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.

  3. Flavor: Stir in cherry extract and a few drops of food coloring (optional) until evenly mixed.

  4. Mix: Remove from heat. Fold in chopped cherries and crispy rice cereal. Mix gently but thoroughly.

  5. Set: Transfer the mixture into the greased pan. Press down evenly using a greased spatula or wax paper.

  6. Drizzle (Optional): Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in the microwave in 20-second bursts. Drizzle over cooled treats.

  7. Cool & Cut: Let set at room temperature for 1 hour. Cut into bars and serve.
